Automatic security systems

In Belgium, there are three different auxiliary systems, which are designed to function perfectly alongside each other. The European Train Control System (ETCS) is an automatic train control system that informs, monitors and corrects using beacons on the track and an informatics system in the driver's cab of the train. The beacons on the track detect the exact location of the train so that the maximum permitted speed can be determined.
